Enhanced Mandarin Program
XCL American Academy’s Enhanced Mandarin Program follows the renowned Singapore Chinese Language Primary Program that focuses on listening, speaking, reading, writing and interaction skills.
It is tailored to students’ abilities and offered in the core module for all students / the bridging or reinforcement module for students who need more help in the language, and the enrichment module for students has a higher aptitude for learning the language. Like all other subjects, our Enhanced Mandarin Program’s benchmark will also be based on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) standards. ACTFL is a national organization dedicated to improving and expanding the teaching and learning of languages at all levels of instruction. Students will be assessed based on ACTFL performance descriptors for language learners, and the Can-Do Statements reflect the continuum of growth in communication skills through the five main levels:
- Distinguished
- Superior
- Advanced
- Intermediate
- Novice

Why Our Program
Starting from the first year of our school operations (August 2022), XCL American Academy will be offering the Enhanced Mandarin Program.
Our Enhanced Mandarin Program is designed for non-native Mandarin speakers. We aim to help students develop the interest, motivation, and language foundations that will set them on a path to language mastery.
